This year marks the 100th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race. Fans of this event will remember French driver Romain Dumas record setting run a few years ago in an EV - a VW ID.R. Dumas broke the event record by 16 seconds and the record still stands. This year, at least 3 EVs will be competing, including a Tesla driven by Randy Pobst.
A little eye candy for those not familiar with Dumas run:

For those around the CO Springs area, or who plan on attending events for this year's
Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, we have an opportunity to get involved in a volunteer activity at the Fan Fest event on Friday afternoon before the race. This opportunity is being coordinated by members of the Colorado Springs EV Club in conjunction with PPIHC and Optima batteries.
Fan Fest is being held from 5-9PM on June 24, 2022 in downtown CO Springs. More than 30,000 people attend this 10-block street party.
The volunteer opportunity is helping with Optima Batteries booth, they are sponsoring the Meet and Greet with the "Fast 15", the top 15 qualifiers for the race. The Fast 15 are made available to the press for interviews, and public for autographs. We will be helping with coordinating those activities.
